1. Introduction

Welcome to MediHabit. We are committed to protecting your personal health data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

2. Information We Collect

MediHabit collects the following health data that you manually enter:

• Blood pressure readings (systolic, diastolic, pulse)
• Blood glucose readings (fasting, post-meal, random)
• Body temperature readings
• BMI data (height and weight)
• Lipid profile readings (LDL, HDL, total cholesterol, triglycerides)
• Medication information and reminder schedules

MediHabit also automatically collects the following data using your device's built-in sensors:

• Step count (via device step counter sensor)
• Distance walked (estimated from step count)
• Calories burned (estimated from step count)

3. How We Use Your Information

All health data is used solely to:

• Display your personal health history within the app
• Show trends and charts of your health metrics
• Send medication reminders you have configured
• Calculate health indicators such as BMI and lipid ratios
• Count daily steps and estimate distance and calories using the device sensor

4. Device Sensor Data

MediHabit uses the built-in step counter sensor on your Android device to track your daily physical activity. This requires the Activity Recognition permission on Android 10 and above. The sensor data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to any external server.

Step count data is used to calculate estimated distance walked and calories burned using standard estimation formulas. All calculated values are stored locally in a secure database on your device only.

You can revoke the Activity Recognition permission at any time by going to Settings → Apps → MediHabit → Permissions on your Android device. Revoking this permission will stop step counting but will not affect any other features of the app.

5. Permissions We Use

MediHabit requests only the permissions necessary to provide its features:

• ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION — Required to access the device step counter sensor for tracking daily steps
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Required to send medication reminders
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE — Required to run the step counter in the background so steps are counted even when the app is not open
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — Required to restart medication reminders after the device reboots
• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM — Required to deliver medication reminders at precise times
• INTERNET — Required for Firebase push notifications only. No health data is sent over the internet
• VIBRATE — Required to vibrate the device when a medication reminder fires

6. Data Sharing

We do NOT:

• Share your data with any third parties
• Use your data for advertising purposes
• Sell your data to anyone
• Upload your health data to any external server

7. Data Storage

All data entered in or collected by MediHabit is stored locally on your device using a secure local database. We do not operate any servers or cloud storage for your health data. Push notification tokens used for Firebase notifications do not contain any health information.

8. Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time by:

• Deleting individual records within the app
• Uninstalling the app, which removes all locally stored data from your device

9. Children's Privacy

MediHabit is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
